My husband snapped this the other day to capture what he thought was adorable. I, on the other hand, said “Baaaaabe, do NOT post that!” I knew my outfit was a crazy mismatch of camo and daisies, my hair needed a good brushing, a pedicure was long-overdue, I’m sure I needed to shave my legs but I can’t reach them anymore past this growing belly, and I had a face of no makeup, or maybe so, but leftover from the day before. Then I started to spiral think about how it’s not just me that’s a disaster, the house is too! Dishes are piling up higher than the dirty laundry, water bottles seem to make their way onto

every single table and under every piece of furniture, Amazon boxes are stacked up everywhere like we are moving somewhere, and it’s about time for me to vacuum up a toddlers’ collectible snacks from weeks ago that are EVERYWHERE! But all of that is a step, and I just don’t have the energy.

My back hurts worse than any pregnancy, my pelvic bone feels like it’s breaking, and I can’t seem to get more than 3 hours of sleep. I’m 40 years old, 8 months pregnant, and chasing a toddler all day while making sure my oldest is on track with her back-to-virtual school situation. Sooooooooo......I figured I could feel sorry for myself, or simply CHOOSE GRACE!

So I am posting the picture, while laying on the couch, about to take a nap since my little one is finally asleep, knowing that there are a million things I need to do in the house, but accepting that IT IS OK to leave it alone for now. We, as mommies, need to give ourselves more grace! Remember to take care of yourselves and let it be ok to leave the dishes in the sink, laundry on the floor, and water bottles on every single counter!
